Our management team isn't hidden away in some London skyscraper! Everyone who works at Tuffnells Parcels Express enjoys getting to grips with the business, day in, day out. Here are some of the team making the changes that benefit colleagues and customers.
Chris has over 20 years' experience in the Retail and Logistics sector, and joined Tuffnells in June 2015. He was previously a main board director at B&Q UK & Ireland, with responsibility for its Supply Chain, IT, Property and Strategy divisions. Before this, Chris held senior management positions with Accenture, Boots the Chemist and Marks & Spencer. As MD of Tuffnells Parcels Express, Chris is also a member of the Connect Group's senior executive team. In addition to this, Chris is a visiting lecturer at the University of Chester, where he regularly lectures to UK and overseas MBA students.
Sales & Commercial Director
Chris joined Tuffnells in 2002 as Regional Director for the South East of England. Prior to this, Chris held various key positions in both Sales and Operational Management at Regional General Management levels, gaining over 30 years' experience within the Distribution and Parcel sectors.
Chris is currently responsible for all the company's Sales and Commercial activities, including setting and monitoring company KPIs, setting sales targets and incentives and has overall responsibility for Customer Services. Chris also heads up the Tuffnells International division.
Duncan is an experienced Finance Director with significant knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chains and joined Tuffnells after playing a key role in the financial turnaround of Connect Books. His previous experience includes working for DS Smith PLC in the Netherlands. Prior to this, Duncan spent 14 years at Pitney Bowes - holding numerous Finance Directorships before taking the role of VP Supply Chain, where he was responsible for all manufacturing and logistics activity across Europe and Asia Pacific. Duncan is a Chartered Certified Accountant with an MBA from the University of Bedfordshire.
Chief Operating Officer
Phil joined Tuffnells Parcels Express in 2016. Prior to this, Phil, a Mechanical Engineer by training, spent 17 years in the Aerospace sector with General Electric and Honeywell based in the UK, France and Switzerland. Here, he worked across Sales, Customer and Product Support, Operations, Business Division Leadership and Six Sigma functions. Phil has also spent time in Wind Energy, leading a global aftermarket division, in Logistics with Amazon UK and as an independent consultant.
Karen began her career on the Kingfisher Management Development Scheme at B&Q plc working in merchandising and marketing roles before progressing to Regional Manager in Store Operations. Karen then moved into HR, and over the past 12 years has partnered senior leaders within the Operations, Financial Services, Logistics and Distribution sectors to drive the people agenda - as well as leading organisational design and cultural change projects. Karen joined Tuffnells in December 2015 from Shop Direct, where she was Head of People for Operations and Customer Services.
Jon joined Tuffnells in December 2015, following 25 years' experience in delivering change across a number of different business sectors. His most recent role prior to joining was with P&O Ferries, where he led the Business Change Programme and was responsible for the delivery of new websites and order management systems. Before this, he held positions in both Kingfisher and Home Retail Group, leading large scale IT and business transformation programmes. Jon is fully trained in business analysis, project management/programme methodologies and change management best practice.
